Description
Woodbine Cottage is a house that dates from the 17th century and late 18th century. It is built of rubble with a slate roof and has two storeys and five bays. There is a straight joint between bays 2 and 3, indicating that the left-hand end of the building is older. The windows are of a later 18th century style, featuring square mullions and a slight chamfer, unless noted otherwise.
In bay one, there are 6-light sash windows with plain stone surrounds, along with a 17th century one-light fire window to the left on the ground floor. Bay 2 has a 6-light sash window in a plain stone surround on the first floor and a 2-light window below. Bay 3 features a 3-light window on the ground floor and a 2-light window, which was formerly a 3-light window, on the first floor. Bay 4 includes a modern stone porch over a cyma-moulded door surround, with a one-light window above. In bay 5, there is a French window in a plain stone surround on the ground floor and a 2-light window above. The house has chimneys on the gables and between bays 2 and 3, with the left-hand chimney featuring a projecting stack with offsets.
