Description

This is a 17th-century house located in Priest Hutton, originally part of a larger complex. The house is built of rubble and has a slate roof. It follows a central-entry plan and currently has no original chimney stacks. Window openings are chamfered and have individual hood moulds. A two-light fire window is on the left side, with windows featuring removed mullions and lowered sills on either side of the front door. The first-floor windows are modern, but their surrounds were reconstructed using elements from original 17th-century mullioned windows. The doorway has plain stone jambs, a cyma moulded ogee lintel, and a hood mould. A former farm building to the left, originally separate and under the same roof, has been incorporated into the house and now has modern openings.
