Description

Gibson House is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of rendered rubble with a slate roof. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. A modern gabled porch has been added in the centre, between the first and second bays. The windows originally had plain stone surrounds of 18th-century type. The mullions have been removed from these windows and replaced with double sash windows. The right-hand window on the first floor has a single sash, and the two windows to the right of the porch have later 19th-century stone surrounds and sash windows. Chimneys are situated on the gables. A lower extension is attached to the left-hand gable. At the rear, a later parallel range extends, featuring windows with plain reveals. One first-floor window has glazing bars, and a central sash window is flanked by two fixed lights.
