Description

This early 19th-century pair of houses, now flats, is located on Queen Street, Lancaster. The building is constructed of sandstone ashlar with a slate roof. It is two storeys high, plus a basement, and has three bays, with a slightly projecting and narrower central section containing the two linked doorways, all beneath an eaves cornices with a blocking course. The windows have plain reveals and 20th-century glazing bar casements. A sill band runs along the first floor, and there's a sunk panel beneath each window on the ground floor. The doorways are accessed via five steps with nosings and are approached from both the front and the side. They have a recent wooden cornice supported by three brackets. The doors are six-panelled, with overlights featuring glazing bars arranged in a lozenge pattern.
