Description
Little Catshaw Farmhouse, built in 1763 and altered over time, is accompanied by a barn that likely dates from the later 18th century. The farmhouse is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a slate roof with a double-depth plan. It stands two storeys high and has three bays. The windows have chamfered surrounds, although the central mullions have been removed. The door, located in the middle bay, has a plain stone surround, and above it is an oval plaque inscribed with 'IHF 1763'. The gutter is supported by stone brackets, and there are chimneys at both ends of the building.
The barn, situated to the left of the farmhouse, has a wide entrance sheltered by a canopy with cheeks. To the left of the barn, there are external stone steps leading to a first-floor doorway, along with lean-to additions. The left gable wall of the barn features three shippon doorways from the original part of the building, with two windows positioned between them, all having plain reveals.
