Description

Lancaster Lodge is a lodge built in 1887, likely designed by Douglas. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and features a slate roof, rising to two storeys. The windows are rebated and chamfered, with mullions.

The south wall, which faces the drive, includes a projecting wing on the right side. This wing has a five-light window on the ground floor, where the outer lights are angled back, and the corners of the first-floor wall extend outward. The first-floor window consists of four lights, and there is a round window located under the apex of the gable. On the left side of the facade, there is a one-light window, and to its right, a door with a moulded surround and a shaped lintel, which is inscribed with '18 S 87'. The building features coped gables and a chimney situated at the junction of two roof ridges.

The west gable wall has an upper storey that jetties out on stone corbels, along with a two-light window on the ground floor and two similar windows on the first floor at different heights. A chimney is positioned on the left side of this wall.
