Description

This is an early 19th-century stable block originally associated with Yealand Manor. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with sandstone dressings, chamfered quoins, and a hipped slate roof. The west wall includes some round pitching holes. The east wall has a wide segmental arch towards the north end, containing two doorways and a window with plain reveals. To the right of this arch is a fixed window with glazing bars in a plain stone surround. The southern end of the east wall features a similar window and a blocked doorway, now converted into a window with plain reveals. At the left-hand end is a wide, segmental-headed opening, now blocked, which contains a door and a window.
