Description
The Old Post House is a house from the late 17th century, constructed from limestone rubble and topped with a slate roof. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and was originally divided into two cottages, but is now a single residence.
The front features two central doorways with plain reveals. The windows are rebated and chamfered with mullions, and those on the ground floor have been restored. To the left of the doors is a three-light window, and to the right is another three-light window, with three two-light windows on the first floor.
To the right of the main structure is an extension with an outshut that projects forward, which includes a door with plain reveals on its left-hand return wall. Each floor of the front wall has a window with plain reveals that contains two centre-pivoted casements with glazing bars. There are chimney stacks on the left-hand gable, positioned between the house and the outshut extension, as well as between the extension and a later addition to the south. The north gable features two one-light chamfered attic windows.
