Description

This is a house, likely dating from the mid-18th century with some surviving elements from the 17th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with sandstone dressings and a slate roof. The house is three storeys high and comprises four bays. The windows are of mid-18th century style, typically with two lights and square mullions, with a slight chamfer to their surrounds. Bay two features a canted stone bay window, while bay three is blank. Bay one has a rebated and chamfered door surround flanked by narrow stone windows, with a two-light square-mullioned window to the right, all likely 20th-century replacements. Chimneys are positioned on the gables and between bays one and two.

At the rear is an outshut attached to part of the house, featuring a door with a plain stone surround. The outshut contains both chamfered 18th-century windows and rebated and chamfered 17th-century windows. The rear wall of the main house has three two-light rebated and chamfered mullioned stair windows at intermediate levels towards its left end. To the right of these is a taller 18th-century stair window with plain reveals and small panes, illuminating a 17th-century stair.

Inside, the middle room has 18th-century built-in cupboards and a stone fireplace with raised and fielded panels carved onto the jambs, a pulvinated frieze, and a cyma cornice. The dog-leg stair has a modern lower flight and three 17th-century flights with square newels and splat balusters.
