Description
No. 93 High Street is a former house that later became a public house, built in the late 18th century and altered in the 19th century. The building is constructed of sandstone ashlar with ashlar dressings and has a slate roof. It features a double-depth plan with a very large rear extension on the right side. The structure has three storeys plus an attic and three bays, with a cellar below.
There are sill bands on all floors. The doorway is located in the right-hand bay and has a raised plain surround with a segmental pediment, along with two recessed steps leading to a door that has six raised and fielded panels topped by a glazed panel. To the left of the doorway, there are two shuttered cellar openings. The ground floor has two sashed windows without glazing bars, while each floor above features three twelve-pane sashes, all with plain reveals. The building is topped with a moulded gutter cornice, a gabled dormer on the front slope of the roof, and a large gable chimney stack on the left side. The rear of the building has not been inspected.
