Description
Marshaw Cottage and White Moor Cottage are two houses built in the late 17th century, with additions and alterations from the 18th and 19th centuries. They are constructed from slobbered rubble and topped with a stone slate roof, standing two storeys high. The south wall features windows that are spaced irregularly. Marshaw Cottage, located on the left, has two ground-floor windows with rendered surrounds, the right one being smaller. On the first floor, there are two windows with plain reveals, and the door on the left also has plain reveals. White Moor Cottage is situated to the right, beyond a straight joint. It has a one-light window with a hollow-chamfered surround to the left of its door and a sashed window with a plain stone surround to the right. The first floor features two 2-light hollow-chamfered mullioned windows, and the door has plain reveals. At the rear, the straight joint indicates that White Moor Cottage is older, while Marshaw Cottage, to the right, includes a 5-light rebated and chamfered mullioned window, with a one-light hollow-chamfered fire window beyond to the right. Additionally, a 19th-century wing of White Moor Cottage projects forward on the left.
