Description

These are a pair of gate piers located approximately 15 metres south of the Friends' Meeting House in Lancaster. They were built in the mid-18th century and altered in the late 19th century. The piers are made of sandstone ashlar and are square in plan, featuring a pilaster on each face and a prominent cornice. Above the cornice, there is a pyramidal cap, likely added during the late 19th century.
