Description
Windsor House is a house dating from the early 17th century, as indicated by 'ID 1630' on the re-dressed door lintel. The building is constructed of pebbledashed rubble with sandstone dressings and has a slate roof. It features a 2-unit plan with a central entry and gable stacks, standing two storeys tall with an attic.
On either side of the doorway, there are sashed windows with plain stone surrounds. To the left of the facade, there is a fire window with a chamfered surround and a rebate that extends to form a triangular head. The first floor has three sashed windows, also with plain stone surrounds. The chamfered door surround has a 4-centred head. The left-hand chimney cap is round and made of limestone, while the right-hand chimney stack projects and has a rectangular sandstone cap with a weathered offset, along with a moulded string and cornice. There is a one-light attic window in the right-hand gable, which is chamfered and has a rebate that forms a pointed head. The building has later additions at the rear, which feature a parallel roof.
