Description

This is a late 17th-century house located on Main Street in Warton. It is constructed from limestone rubble with sandstone dressings around the windows and door, and has a slate roof. The house was originally a 2-unit central-entry design, with a third contemporary unit added to the right, which was later used as a stable. It has gable stacks and an attic. The front facade features a 3-light mullioned window to the left of the porch, its mullions rebated and chamfered. To the right is a former 4-light window where the central mullion has been removed. On the first floor, there are three rebated and chamfered window surrounds; the window to the left of the porch has plain reveals. A porch with an open front stands over the doorway, which has chamfered jambs and pyramid stops. The chamfer extends around the battlemented lintel. The original 17th-century front door remains, though the wooden studs have been cut off flush. The right-hand gable has coping and a kneeler.
