13/84 The Fleece Hotel and stables adjoining to east (Formerly listed as The Fleece 2-5-1968 Hotel and outbuildings attached to Fleece Hotel under General)

Public house, mid C18th with C19th alterations. Sandstone rubble with tile roof. 2 storeys. Original house of double-pile plan with 2 bays. Windows of 3 lights with flush chamfered mullions, except for the left-hand bay, which has a later door with plain stone surround, now blocked to form a window, flanked by narrow sashed windows with glazing bars and plain stone surrounds. Between bays is the original entrance with stone surround, now blocked. On each side of the original house is a chimney and a coping with kneelers. At the left is a former barn, now part of the hotel. At the right it has one bay with sashed windows with glazing bars in plain stone surrounds. Set within the original barn entrance is a wide modern doorway with cement reveals. Further left is a modern window with painted surround, partly within a blocked doorway. Set back a little at the left are stables with a slate roof. On the ground floor are 3 doors with plain stone surrounds. Above the central one is a similar door on the 1st floor, reached by cantilevered external stone steps. At each side on the 1st floor is a window with plain reveals.
