Description
West Hall Farmhouse is a house from the late 17th century that has been altered. It is constructed of pebbledashed rubble and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys and originally consisted of three bays. The windows are mullioned, rebated, and hollow-chamfered, with all except those in the right-hand bay having two lights; the right-hand bay windows have three lights. The central bay contains a door with a mid-18th century surround that is chamfered and has an ogee shape on the lintel. An additional bay on the right has windows with glazing bars and plain reveals, with sashed windows on the first floor. There is a chimney on each side of the original house. At the rear, there is a wing that is likely from the early 19th century, featuring three re-set corbels and a date stone on its north-east wall. Two of the corbels have carved heads, while the third is carved with a shield of arms. The date stone is inscribed with '1661 TCM'. Inside, on the first floor, there are re-used turned balusters and a handrail, along with re-used square moulded panelling, both dating from the 17th century.
