Description
The White Lion Hotel and Coach House, located to the north-east, is a public house built in the late 18th century. It features a rubble construction that is pebbledashed at the front, topped with a slate roof. The building has a double-pile, three-unit plan and stands 2½ storeys tall with three bays. The tall sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set in plain stone surrounds on the ground and first floors, while shorter attic windows with glazing bars are positioned above. There is a doorway with a plain stone surround situated between the first and second bays. The building has end stacks and a third stack located between the second and third bays. At the rear, there is an outshut that includes a doorway with a plain stone surround and a window surround that has a slight chamfer, though the central square mullion has been removed.
The coach house, also from the late 18th century but with mid-19th century openings facing the road, is constructed of slobbered rubble and has a slate roof. It is two storeys tall on the south-east side, which faces the main road, and one storey on the north-west side. The south-east front features a small window opening, a stable door, and a chamfered cart entrance with a segmental head. The north-west wall displays rusticated quoins, a central wide entrance with a segmental head, and a later small window to the right.
