Description

Kirkhouse is a house dating from the late 18th century, with some remains from the 17th century. It is constructed of pebbledashed rubble and has a slate roof. The building features a double-pile plan with a central entrance and gable stacks. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has three bays. The windows are sash style, without glazing bars, and are set in plain stone surrounds. The door has a moulded surround and features a lintel marked 'RHE 1676'. Additionally, rebated and chamfered window surrounds and stone gutter brackets can be seen above the extensions at the rear.
