Description
No. 7 Town End is a house dating from 1678, as indicated by the inscription on the door lintel. It is constructed of pebbledashed rubble and has a slate roof. The building features a two-unit central-entry plan with gable stacks and is two storeys high with two bays. On the ground floor, there are two-light rebated and chamfered mullioned windows, with the mullions extended. The first floor shows the remains of rebated and chamfered surrounds for two-light windows, which have been enlarged. Above the front door, there is a plaque inscribed with 'A R T 1899'. The moulding of the door jambs continues around the battlemented lintel. Inside, there is a shouldered fireplace of 18th-century style visible beneath wallpaper in the left-hand room.
