Description
The gate piers and boundary wall to the grounds of Fairhaven United Reformed Church were likely built around 1904. They are constructed of red brick with buff terracotta dressings. The wall runs along the front facing Clifton Drive and continues along the side facing Ansdell Road South. The main gateway is set in a concave quadrant at the corner, with secondary gateways at the outer ends of both sides. The structure features low brick walls topped with pitched terracotta coping and regularly spaced brick piers that have terracotta tops. At the corner, there are four large square piers designed in a Baroque style, which have chamfered corners, terracotta bands, dentilled cornices, and paired console supporters beneath domed caps. This structure forms a group with the associated Fairhaven United Reformed Church.
