Description
Six Mile Bridge (Number 27) is an accommodation bridge over the Lancaster Canal, built around 1797 by engineer John Rennie. The bridge is constructed from large sandstone blocks and features an elliptical arch with triple keystones. It has bands and parapets with rounded coping, as well as pilastered ends. This bridge is part of a group that includes a milestone located approximately 20 meters to the south.
