Description
Riverside Cottage is a former fulling mill dating from the early 17th century, now functioning as a cottage. It is constructed from coursed sandstone with quoins and features a stone slate roof with brick gable chimneys. The building has a gable facing the road and a rectangular plan that consists of three bays. On the east side, there are two doors and three windows on each floor, while the west side has one door and three windows on each floor, all of which have been variously altered. The north gable, which faces the road, has blocked square openings at both the ground and first floor levels, as well as blocked ventilation slits on three levels. The south gable, which faces the river, has a small blocked opening with a rounded head at ground level, possibly for a drive shaft. Inside, there are seven large chamfered beams and roof trusses set close together, although the interior has otherwise been altered.
