Description
The Continuation of Jubilee Almshouses, built in 1870, is a single-storey structure made of red brick with a low-pitched hipped slate roof. It has a rectangular plan consisting of three units and is almost symmetrical in design. The roof extends down to create an open verandah at the front and sides, supported by cylindrical iron posts. There are round-headed doorways at the center and each end, with one window to the left of the center and two to the right. All windows are round-headed and feature cross-window casements with glazing bars. A stone plaque between the right-hand windows reads: "CONTINUATION OF JUBILEE ALMS HOUSES ERECTED AD 1870." The design of this building deliberately resembles the Almshouses Nos. 1 to 4 on Shevington Avenue, located at the northeast corner of Back Drinkhouse Lane.
