Description
Bradley Hall is a farmhouse that is said to date back to the early 17th century but has been significantly altered and enlarged in the 19th century. The building features scored stucco with some quoins, a plinth, and a slate roof. It is arranged in a U-shape around a rear courtyard, which is now incorporated into the structure. The front range has three bays, with the third bay possibly being an addition, and it has a receding rear wing attached to the first bay, along with a parallel addition at the back of the third bay.
The farmhouse is two storeys high, with a chimney located at the left gable and another chimney at the junction of the second and third bays. The facade between these chimneys is almost symmetrical, featuring quoins at the left corner, a glazed door that is slightly offset to the right of centre, and two 16-pane sash windows on each floor, all with splayed stone heads. The third bay on the right has one matching window on each floor. The left gable includes an inserted door and a window above it, while the side wall of the rear wing has a large window on the ground floor and two unequal three-light sliding sash windows above, all of which have glazing bars.
Inside, the interior has been altered, but some boxed beams remain in the front range, and there are exposed square beams in the rear wing. The former open yard, now covered, contains two pumps, one of which has a lettered plaque marked "E," both supplying a large stone trough with rounded corners. The date "H D 1847" is also noted.
