HEAPEY CHURCH LANE SD 62 SW 6/113 Rotunda c.30 metres south - of Church of St. Barnabas GV II

Rotunda bellcote. Dated 1776, formerly in grounds of Prospect House, Wheelton, and probably originally part of Heapey Parish church (St. Barnabas). Dressed gritstone. Square rusticated base, 6 squat Tuscan columns, banded frieze, moulded cornice, domed roof. Frieze inscribed "JAMES SCOTSON CHURCH WARDEN 1776".
