Description

This is a farmhouse with an attached barn, likely dating from the mid-18th century, with a subsequent extension soon afterwards. Alterations have been made over time. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble, while the barn is of random rubble. Both have slate roofs and brick chimneys.

The farmhouse is a double-depth structure, originally two bays, extended to three bays with an addition to the left. The front elevation shows a vertical joint between the first and second bays. The right-hand portion of the house is symmetrical, with chimneys at each original gable. A central doorway is framed by a plain surround, and there are two three-light windows on each floor, which were originally flush-mullioned but have been altered to casements. The added bay to the left has one similar window on each floor. The gable wall of the added bay includes a two-light window on the first floor and another serving the attic. A chimney is present on the rear slope, and a shallow addition is visible behind this.

The barn is attached to the right, slightly set back and on a lower level. The line of a formerly steeply-pitched roof is indicated by watertabling on the gable of the house. Two square windows are visible in the front wall of the barn. The rear of the building has been altered and is of less architectural interest. The interior has not been inspected.
