Description
Carwood House is a house dated 1798, constructed of ashlar with roughcast side and rear walls, likely made from rubble. It has a slate roof featuring a skylight and a chimney located at the right gable, which is attached to an adjoining house. The building has a double-pile, 2-bay plan and stands two storeys high. It is symmetrical in design, with a moulded gutter cornice, a simple rectangular doorway, and two rectangular windows on each floor. All windows are now top-hung casements with glazing bars. Centrally located on the first floor is a datestone set in a moulded rectangular frame, which reads: "Lawrence & Ellen Telson 1798 Carwood House."
