Description
Carwood House Farmhouse is a farmhouse, probably from the 18th century, that has been converted into two dwellings. It is built of squared gritstone in diminishing courses and features a slate roof with one chimney located on the ridge at the junction of the first and second bays, and another at the right gable. The building has a rectangular three-bay plan with a lean-to extension at the right end. It stands two storeys high and has a gabled single-storey porch at the junction of the second and third bays, which includes a studded board door and small side windows. The ground floor is flanked by two-light casements, while the first floor has smaller two-light casements. The windows in the first bay are lower and include sliding sashes as well as the remains of a former stone mullioned window.
