Description

This farmhouse, located approximately 20 meters east of Watson Cottage, is dated 1702 on the porch. It is constructed of handmade brick and features a corrugated iron roof, with the eaves raised by six courses. The building has a three-bay baffle entry plan and a projecting porch. It stands two storeys high and includes a two-course band. The two-storey gabled porch aligns with a ridge chimney at the junction of the second and third bays and has a segmental-headed outer doorway. Above the band is a worn datestone inscribed with "B" and there is a blocked first-floor window. On the right side, there is an enlarged window and some stone quoins at ground floor level. To the left, there are two three-light casements on each floor, which appear to have been altered, and between these is a small two-light window with a chamfered brick mullion that is now blocked, possibly a stairlight. There is one altered window on each floor to the right. The left gable wall features two two-light sliding sash windows. The rear of the building includes a two-light firewindow, a two-light window at the ground floor of the third bay, and a three-light window above, all of which are blocked but retain remains of their mullions, with the ground floor windows having brick labels. The farmhouse has chimneys on the ridge and at the left gable. The interior has not been inspected, but one-quarter round moulded beams are visible.
