Description
St. Oswald's Presbytery is a building dating from 1822, constructed of brick with stone dressings and a slate roof. It stands two storeys tall and features three bays, along with a one-storey extension to the west. The garden front includes a top cornice and a blocking course. The windows are fitted with wedge lintels and are sashed with single glazing bars. There is a flat-topped dormer that has small-paned glazing. The entrance is elliptical-headed and features an inset Tuscan doorcase, a fanlight with glazing bars, and a half-glazed door. The building has gable-end stacks. Inside, there is an open well stair with decorative iron balusters. This presbytery was built at the same time as the Catholic chapel, which has since been replaced by the current church.
