Description

Windy Harbour Farmhouse and shippon dates from 1766, as indicated by the initials "EW FW" on a tablet above the front door. It is constructed of squared rubble with a graduated stone slate roof, incorporating brick additions and chimney stacks. The farmhouse follows a three-bay central-entrance plan, with two storeys and a continuous rear outshut and shippon extending under a single roof to the east. The front facade features a central door flanked by five-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion windows; each initially had two mullions, but these have since been removed. The first floor has two matching five-light flush mullion windows, and a casement window sits above the entrance door. Various hayloft and door openings are present in the shippon.
