Description

Toll Bar Cottage is a toll bar cottage built around 1800. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The cottage is one room deep and has one storey, with two storeys at the rear, and has a gable facing the road. There are 20th-century additions to the left. The verges of the roof project significantly above the gable. The central door has a pointed arch with a fanlight and a square-cut stone surround. On either side of the door, there are sash windows that are similarly detailed. A rendered ridge chimney stack is present on the roof.
