Description

Hartshead Pike Tower is a tower built in 1863 by John Eaton, constructed from hammer-dressed stone. It features a circular shape with a steep conical roof. The door on the west side has a shouldered head, and above it are inscribed stones that read, "This pike was rebuilt by public contribution 1751 and re-erected by public subscription to commemorate the marriage of HRH Albert Edward Prince of Wales to HRH the Princess Alexandra and to restore the ancient landmark of Hartshead Pike." The tower includes cusped lancet window openings, corbelled eaves, dormer roof lights with cusped openings, and stepped gables.
