Description
Jeremy Cottage, also known as Higher Farmhouse, is a farmhouse dating from 1642, as indicated by a tablet above a ground floor window. The building is constructed of squared rubble and features a graduated stone slate roof. It has a three-unit plan, with two storeys and an additional bay of slightly later date on the right. The first bay is gabled and includes kneelers, a small blocked window on the ground floor, and a three-light window on the upper floor. Much of the front is covered by ivy, but the windows, two of which have two lights, feature double-chamfered mullions and hoodmoulds, some of which have upturned ends. There are three ridge chimney stacks, two of which have been rebuilt in brick. The building has doors on the left and right returns, as well as a porch and three doors at the rear, which also contains two and three-light windows. The interior has not been inspected.
