Description

Holy Trinity Church is a church built between 1873 and 1874 by Medland and Henry Taylor, with a tower added in 1903. It is constructed of rock-faced stone with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof. The church includes a nave with a porch, a west tower, a north transept, a chancel, a vestry, and an organ chamber. The three-bay nave has stone quoins, weathered buttresses, and a variety of window styles including single, double, and triple-lancet windows, along with a porch in the first bay. All gables are adorned with pierced bargeboards. The three-stage west tower features stone bands, paired lancet belfry openings, clock faces, a castellated parapet, angled buttresses, and large octagonal corner pinnacles. The east window consists of three lights with plate tracery. Inside, there is a tripartite chancel arch with smaller outer arches, one of which provides access to the pulpit. The nave has heavy roof trusses with scissor braces, while the chancel features arch braces supported by small timber colonnettes. The church also contains stained glass windows.
