Description

Lock Cottage is a late 18th-century lock keeper's house that has been converted into a private residence. It is constructed of English garden wall bond brick and features a slate roof. The building has two bays, stands two storeys high, and is two rooms deep. There is a small lean-to addition on the right side. Each elevation of the cottage includes a total of three small windows, which have 20th-century casements, wedge lintels, and stone sills, with one window at the rear being blind. The front of the cottage has a centrally placed door and a gable chimney stack. The cottage is included for its group value.
