Description
Nos. 6A, 6, and 6B at Fairfield Square are three houses that were originally built as one in the late 18th century. They are constructed of Flemish bond brick and feature a slate roof. The building has a symmetrical five-bay, two-storey design with a central entrance and one-bay wings that are set back on either side. At the base, there is a stone plinth.
The main elevation is approached by stone steps leading to a four-panel door, which is topped by a fanlight and an open pediment supported by pilasters. There are four windows on the ground floor and five on the first floor, all featuring stone sills, flat brick arches, and sash windows, although the glazing bars have been removed. Each wing has later doors, with one wing (6B) having a recessed porch. Most windows are four-pane sashes, except for one paired sash window. The building is topped with a total of four gable chimney stacks.
