Description
Nos. 3, 4, and 5 Fairfield Square are three houses built in the late 18th century, although their front facade was completely rebuilt in the 20th century. They are constructed from English garden wall bond brick and topped with a slate roof. The houses have a double-depth plan, featuring a total of four bays and two storeys. No. 3 is accessed through the gable end. The front facade includes two four-panel doors with timber surrounds and hoods, paired sash windows on each floor and in each bay, except for bay 3, which has tripartite sash windows. The windows have stone sills and cambered brick arches, and there are no glazing bars. The buildings have two ridge chimney stacks. The gable end features a central four-panel door, a sash window on each floor, and a blind opening at first floor level. At the rear, there is a two-storey wing, an outshut, and a lean-to. These houses are included for their group value and as an integral part of the Moravian Settlement.
