Description

This is a mid-18th century farmhouse situated on Marple Dale Road, Marple. The main part of the house is constructed of coursed rubble with a graduated stone slate roof. It has a double-depth plan, with three bays across and two storeys in height. A later two-storey wing was added to the left, and partially reconstructed in 1985, and now extends for four bays. The central doorway has a square-cut ashlar surround and a small overlight. Windows to the right have been blocked, while the windows in the first two bays (a total of three) retain ashlar surrounds and 20 or 24-pane sash windows. Two chimney stacks flank the doorway. The later wing has windows with flat-faced surrounds on both floors.
