Description

Number 16 Bridge on the Peak Forest Canal is a roving bridge built between 1794 and 1801, designed by engineers Benjamin Outram and Thomas Brown. It is constructed from roughly dressed stone with finely dressed copings. The bridge features a semi-circular arch, a stone band, and rounded copings. The retaining or parapet walls are curved in shape, with one end ending in a square pier and the other gracefully sloping down to the tow-path level.
