Description

The weir on the River Goyt, built around 1805, is constructed from ashlar and roughly dressed stone. It features a segmental design flanked by piers and retaining walls that are shaped like quadrants. Each of these walls includes an ashlar band and coping, and they are topped with a large semi-spherical feature.
