Description

The Norfolk Arms and former National Westminster Bank is a public house that also includes bank premises, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from dressed watershot stone and features a slate roof. The building has six bays and two storeys, with wings extending to the left and rear. Notable architectural details include projecting stone quoins, a dentilled eaves cornice, and a pediment above the second and third bays, which are slightly advanced.

The windows are flat-faced stone mullions, with three lights in the first bay and two lights in the second bay. There are two doors in the third bay, one of which is likely a later addition and features a radial fanlight. Bays four and five have two-light windows, and there is an additional door in the sixth bay. Each first-floor bay has a sash window, although the windows in bays one and two have been replaced with casements, all framed by flat-faced stone surrounds. Below the pediment, there is a recessed round panel. The building is topped with four ridge chimney stacks. Bays five and six, along with the left wing and a 20th-century addition to the rear, are of slightly later construction.
