Description

Brabyns Lodge is an early 19th-century lodge house, originally serving Brabyns Park, and now a private house. It is constructed of dressed stone with a slate roof. The building has a two-storey, two-bay facade, with three stories at the rear and canted ends. A single-storey addition extends from the west side. The front features two 3-light stone mullion windows on each floor. Above the first-floor windows is an oval, uninscribed plaque. The canted end walls each have a blocked doorway with a moulded surround and a blocked window above. Each end elevation incorporates two 3-light mullion windows, a blocked entrance at the lower level, and an arched recess within the gable. The rear elevation has a total of six 3-light flat-faced mullion windows (one blocked), and three blind window recesses. A ridge chimney stack is present.
