Description

Compstall Bridge is a road bridge over the River Etherow, built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar and features two wide segmental-arch spans. The central cutwater has rounded ends and a projecting springing band. The arches are adorned with rusticated voussoirs. Below the arches, there is a moulded band, and the parapet walls have coping that flares out at each end, terminating in square piers.
