Description
Hawbank House is a late 18th-century building that has been converted into offices. The original facade was retained during a rebuild in 1984, while the wings to the side and rear were added at that time. The house is constructed of Flemish bond brick with stone dressings and has a slate roof. It features a central entrance plan with three bays and two storeys. The central bay is slightly set forward and includes an 8-panel door with side panels and a semi-elliptical radial fanlight above it. There is a sash window on the first floor that is topped with a pediment. The first and third bays have windows on both floors, as do the three-bay wings on either side. All windows are adorned with flat brick arches, stone sills, and glazing bars. A large 20th-century wing has been added to the rear.
