Description

The Crosier family chest tomb, located north of St. Mary's Church, is a Grade II listed structure. This chest tomb features an inscription that reads: "Richard son of Robert Crosier, surgeon at Cheadle 1780, also John his son 1781, also John his son 1789, also Robert Crosier Esq., 1827, also Nancy his wife 1825." It is made of stone and has an inscribed slab with canted corners that rests on diagonally set scrolls. The stone plinth was formerly surrounded by iron railings.
