Description

The cross located to the south of the Church of St. Mary is a late 14th century to 15th century structure that has been restored in memory of James Cummings MA in 1873. It is made of red sandstone and features a square shaft with chamfered corners and bar stops at the base. Each side of the cross has a small niche with a cusped head and a continuous hoodmould. The upper section of the cross tapers and is finished with a weathering, although the top is missing. It stands on a moulded square base that includes a copper commemorative plaque.
