Description

The road bridge, built around 1845 by Edward Walters, is located immediately adjacent to Oakwood Hall Lodge in Romiley. Constructed from dressed stone with ashlar dressings, it features a single Tudor arch span. This arch is flanked by square piers that transition to semi-hexagonal shapes at the upper level. The parapet walls curve outward at both ends, ending in square piers on one side and octagonal gatepiers on the other. The walls are adorned with a moulded band, moulded coping, and three corbelled semi-hexagonal projections on each side.
