Description

The Northern Railway Viaduct, built in 1894, is a railway viaduct designed by engineer William Hunt for the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway. It features cast-iron columns that support a cast-iron deck, which has been partly renewed with steel supports. The structure is adorned with three Doric cast-iron columns that support a parapet, which is divided by fluted pilasters into panels, each displaying moulded details along with a swag and Greek key frieze.
