Description
Chapel Street and Hope United Reformed Church is a chapel dated 1819, constructed of brick with a hipped Welsh slate roof and some stone dressings. It is a single-storey building raised over a basement. The main elevation features five bays, with round-arched windows located on either side of and between two main doorways. The wide six-panelled doors are topped with radial fanlights set in moulded architraves that are recessed within arches. The window heads also feature a similar radial detail, although the windows themselves have been renewed. Access to the doors is via a flight of steps that lead up to a stone parapet, which divides into two branches connected by a balustraded balcony. There is a stone plinth and a string course at the parapet. Inscribed stones above each doorway state 'Independent Chapel Erected MDCCCXIX'. The interior has not been inspected.
